Thurman Cortez Merchant
This is my husbands grand father. He was born in Texas we think, He did grow up there, around lubbock. He moved to Northern Arizona to do logging , he had been a blacksmith and lumberjack all his life. His son Thurman Merchant Jr. also did logging for over 40 years in Arizona, and is still living.
Date & Place: at Camp Verde in Yavapi, Arizona USA

This headstone is not accurate, Thurman was born September 12, 1888, and he was in the Calvary not the Infantry. The person who made the headstone got it wrong and they used it anyway since the family knows...
