White House War Protesters Vietnam War
Vietnam war protesters in front of the White House, Washington DC, in 1968. As you can see, not all protesters were "hippies". The signs say No more - stop the war, Eartha Kitt speaks for the women of America, and Stop the Draft. Eartha Kitt, a well-known singer and actress, spoke up at a luncheon at the White House and took President Johnson to task about the Vietnam war. It wasn't a popular stance at the time.
