William H. McMillian
Private William H. McMillian, Company D, 18th Kentucky Volunteer Infantry, Union Army, Civil War.
William was born in Pendleton County, Kentucky in 1831 and was the son of Robert McMillian Sr. and Sarah Hawkins.
He married Mary Agnes Barton in 1854 and their children were:
James Marion McMillian,
Sarah Jane McMillian,
Hannah Ellen McMillian,
William Henry Harrison McMillian,
and Clarinda Ann McMillian.
William H. McMillian contracted T.B. during the war. He returned home to Pendleton County, Kentucky and died of T.B. in 1869. He is buried at the McMillian family cemetery, Unity, Pendleton County, KY.
During his service from 1862-1865, William fought at the Battles of Richmond, Ky., Stones River,TN, Chickamauga,GA, and most of the engagements of the Army of the Cumberland in Tennessee and Georgia.
