William Rice Dalton and America(Stevens)Dalton
William was born Dec. 16, 1853, in Bono Township, Lawrence County, Indiana. He was the son of John and Philomele Dalton. He was a farmer most of his life and was the first husband of America Stevens. They wed August 24, 1884, and had six children. He died in 1921.
America was born March 5, 1872 in Lawrence County, Indiana to George and Sarah(Beasley)Stevens, and was raised by her Uncle Joseph and Aunt Sarah Stevens. She died June 19, 1947 and is buried in Mitchell Cemetery.
