James L. Herd born 6 Sept. 1848 Hancock County, TN, died 10 Dec. 1919 Jack County Texas. Parents were George and Ludy Herd from Hancock County Tennessee. They moved to Red River County Texas in late 1860 or early 1861. This is James L. Herd's 2nd family, first family was with Anionette F. Ballard who died 1887 in Fannin County, TX
