Meaning of the last name Baldridge

The earliest Ancestor we know so far is RICHARD BALDRIGE, born about 1654, and his wife Sarah, born about 1658, in Cardiff, Wales. A son, William Albert BALDRIDGE was born to them on November 11, 1689 in County Tyrone, Ulster Province, Ireland.  William Albert Baldridge married Janette HOLMES. She was born June 24 1694, also in County Tyrone, Ulster Province, Ireland. They both died in Little Britain Twp., Lancaster Co., PA.  They had seven known children (possibly more).  From there, their children spread out throughout PA, TN, NC, KY, OH, MO, MS... All throughout the country! Most of them were very industrious, big land owners, had very large families, and lived frugally. My Zachariah Taylor Baldridge ended up in Hagar Shoals, Floyd County, Kentucky. He had nine living children by his first wife, Mary Jennie Spears, my grandfather Ernest being one. When Mary Jennie died, he remarried to Lucretia RICE Music, who already was widowed with 2 daughters from her first marriage. After Zacky and Lou married, they had six more children. Not all these children lived to be old, some died in their first few years. Zacky was a hard working farmer who had a lot of mouths to feed, but it is said he was a great and loving man, and a good provider. They didn't have much but they flourished in Kentucky!
