Katy Wilson Not a grandchild one had a birthday unless Grandma Birge made this cake, she always had one made when you went to visit her.
(1) white or yellow cake mix with no pudding in the mix, (1) 3 ounce package of jello gelatine any flavor straight from the box,
(1) cup water,
1/2 cup oil,
(4) eggs room temp
Mix above ingredients and bake at 350 for 40 minutes. after cake cools poke holes all over the cake the more holes the better. Icing: 1/3 cup lemon juice, 2 cups sifted powedered sugar, 1 TBS melted butter, mix together. If icing is to thick add a little water. pour icing on cake, it should mostly seep into the holes of the cake. cut and serve.
