Keziah Gamblin Curl

Married William Curl, Jr., moved to Hickman Co., TN, where the lived while raising their children until death. He husband lived to be 92 and died in 1862.She died at the home of her grandson Jarrett Frazier. Her son Alisha Curl married Marie(Watson).They had a daughter Sarah(Curl)who married Green Field Skelton.
(Taken from an old manuscript of the Tn. Hist. Soc. believed to be written by James Drake about 1878.)"The first child born in Hi. Co. was Jane Wilson, she was born Dec. 27, 1806. About 40 yrs. later she became the wife fo Jarrett Curl, Esq., the oldest magistrate in the county, being now in his 85 year. His mother, Mrs Keciah Curl, is the oldest person in the county, being now (1878) in her 107th year. She is older than the Declaration of Independence and was born a subject of George III. Her maiden name was Gamblin, daughter of William Gamblin, a staunch patroit in the Revolution. William Curl settled on Pine River in 1806."
I copied the passage as it was written with all the spelling and grammar as it was on the document that I have. I found another entry on the web that stated that Keziah and William were married Dec. 24,1796. I hope this helps you as well as others.
