He was predeceased by : his significant other Doris Harris; and his siblings, Ernest, Emery and Harriet. He is survived by : his sons, Ron Hensen of Phillips Ranch and Curt Hensen of Port Isabel. He is also survived by five grand-children and eight great grandchildren.

Dorothy Hensen, 91, of Perry passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 18 at the Perry Lutheran Home.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 21 at the Perry Bible Church in Perry. Burial was in the Woodward Cemetery at Woodward.
Dorothy Louise Hensen was born on March 19, 1922, at Elma to William and Esther Ida (Bartels) Groth. She graduated from Boone High School.
She was united in marriage to Emery Edward Hensen on April 24, 1942, at Augustana Lutheran Church in Boone.
Dorothy was employed by Look Magazine in Des Moines as a filing clerk, then at J.C. Penny’s in Perry as a clerk and also at the Perry Lutheran Home as a cook. She was a member of the Perry Bible Church.
Dorothy volunteered her time and was a grandmother to all. She taught herself and her family English, having immigrated from Germany, and was forced all of her growing years to write with the wrong hand, which led to a difficulty writing all of her life.
She was loved by everyone who met her, and she had an enormous community presence in Perry. She was very devoted to her family and thoroughly loved playing with her grandchildren, hosting family and friends and preparing all the food for them. As they would leave, she would always tell them, “Toodaloo!” with a smile on her face.
She enjoyed reading her Bible, the Daily Blessings devotional, dancing, playing cards, listening to Christian music, and riding the bus to Des Moines for shopping.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, William and Esther Groth, and a sister, Rosella Grover.
Verda T (Hensen) Wilkin was born on February 18, 1927. She married Samuel L Prather Sr on March 19, 1949 and they later divorced. They had children Samuel Lee Prather Jr, Mark Garrett Prather, Allen Dale Prather, and Daniel Prather. She married Lewis Junior Wilkin on October 28, 1971, and they were married until Lewis' death on August 18, 1998. Verda Wilkin died at age 71 years old on November 12, 1998, and was buried at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens 8200 W National Rd, in New Carlisle, Clark County, Ohio United States.

Visitation will be on Thursday, July 5, 2018 from 2-7 p.m. with family present from 5-7 p.m. at the Carris Family Funeral Home & Cremation Care in Perry. Burial will be in the Woodward Cemetery at Woodward Iowa with military honors. Memorials will be given to his family and may be left at the Carris Family Funeral Home & Cremation Care.
Emery “Hank” Edward Hensen was born on December 12, 1922 at Bouton, Iowa to William and Mamie Marie (Lange) Hensen. He graduated from the Bouton schools. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Louise Groth at Augustana Lutheran Church in Boone, Iowa on April 24, 1942. He worked at Firestone Tire, farmed and Meadow Gold Ice Cream.
He was a member of the Perry Bible Church. Hank enjoyed fishing, cooking, and hunting.
In death he rejoins his wife Dorothy Hensen, parents, William and Mamie Hensen, sister, Harriet Lamb, and a brother, Ernest “Spitz” Hensen.
