She served as Queen of England after her father, George VI, died in 1952, serving until she died on September 8th 2022. Her reign was 70 years and 7 months, the longest of any monarch of Great Britain.
Elizabeth had one sister, Margaret (1930 - 2002), later the Countess of Snowdon.
Queen Elizabeth II, as she was officially known, married Philip Mountbatten, Duke of Edinburgh (1921 - 2021) in 1947, before she became Queen. Prince Philip's father was Prince Andrew of Greece and Denmark, and his mother was Princess Alice of Battenberg.
