Gordon A. Kier was born to Gladys Jensen Kier (1912 - 2007) and Harmon H. Kier (1910 - 1994). He had two siblings, brother Harmon H. Kier and a sister, Carolyn. Gordon Kier married Charlotte Anderson in July of 1966 in Turner, South Dakota. They were both seventeen years old. After graduating from a program in orthodontics he then married Connie Travis. Gordon was survived by two daughters, Tracy and Lindsay, and a son, Kristopher. After graduating from dental school and completing the graduate course in orthodontics, Gordon began a tile business, AccentTile, with a partner, Sherry Brenden. They operated the store until he died.
