I've recovered an old photograph album from the late 1800's including faculty and students from Oberlin College which includes a photograph of Harriet CUMMING GUSTIN. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1880's or 1890's with Harriet likely in her 20's at the time it was taken. Most of the photographs, like this one was taken by the Pfeifer Studio from Columbus, OH who probably came to take all the photographs at the Oberlin campus. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding Harriet and her family:

Harriet Electra CUMMING was born May 1865 in Lima, NY to parents Theodore CUMMING (1817-1895) and Electa Harriet COOK (1826-1881). Harriet was one of 6 children born to this couple including Esther T.; Emily Cook; Charles Marshall; Theodore; Clara F.; and Harriet E. CUMMING, all born between 1848 and 1865. Some records suggest that her parents were Roger CUMMING and Margaret DWYER. Harriet married Wilbert Hamilton GUSTIN (1860-1927) on 5 Aug 1891 in Churchville, NY and they had four children including Wilbert H.; Gertrude Penwarden; Herbert Alexander; and Harriet Cumming GUSTIN all born between 1893 and 1900. Harriet died 5 Sept 1948 in Middleborough, MA and is buried in the Byron Cemetery in Byron, NY.

I’d like to get this photograph to family and would appreciate you contacting me if you are a member of this family or know someone who might be.

Thanks,
Shelley
