Julia Scarlett Elizabeth Louis-Dreyfus
Julia Scarlett Elizabeth Louis-Dreyfus was born on January 13, 1961 in New York City, to parents Judith LeFever Bowles and Gérard Louis-Dreyfus. She was born into a well-established and affluent family in New York City as her father, Gérard Louis-Dreyfus, was a successful businessman from the Louis-Dreyfus family. She attended the Holton-Arms School in Bethesda, Maryland, during her high school years and developed an early interest in performing arts which led her to pursue a degree in theater at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. Her career in acting began in the early 1980s when she joined the cast of SNL in 1982 and remained a regular cast member for three seasons. Julia Louis-Dreyfus's breakthrough role came with the iconic sitcom "Seinfeld," which premiered in 1989 where she portrayed the character Elaine Benes, Jerry Seinfeld's ex-girlfriend and close friend. After "Seinfeld," Julia continued to build on her success with roles in various television shows and films including "The New Adventures of Old Christine" (for which she won an Emmy), "Veep" (for which she received multiple Emmy Awards), and film roles in projects like "Enough Said" (2013).
Julia Dreyfus of Bronx, Bronx County, NY was born on September 11, 1895, and died at age 74 years old in December 1969.
