    Mendo Guido Saluti's father was Guido Saluti (1887 - 1952), born in Italy and his mother was Giovanna Cursi (1892 - 1969), also born in Italy. He had siblings John H. and Aldo Mario Saluti. When he was 21 years old, Mendo was described as being 6 feet two inches tall and weighing 180 pounds. He had blue eyes, brown hair, a "ruddy" complexion, and a mastoid scar in his right ear. At the time, he was living in Quincy, Massachusetts, and was working at Bethlehem Ship Building in Quincy. Mendo married Winifred Irene Obrien (1927 - 2004). They had two children: a son, Thomas Joseph (1948 - 2015) and a daughter, Sarah Saluti. A Private in the United States Army, Mendo was a veteran of World War II. He was a military policeman.
