Richard Eugene Schorse is the son of Herman William Schorse Sr (1881-1942) and Lillian Elizabeth Miller (1882-1973). He was born on October 14, 1919 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and had siblings William Herman Schorse Jr (1907-1976), Edwin Otto (1908-1996), and Robert Frederick Schorse (1910-1937). He grew up in Milwaukee and later moved to Southern California. He married Doris Louise Leifer (1921-2012) and they had three daughters together. Richard served in the United States Air Force, and is a veteran of World War II.

Richard Edwin Schorse is the son of Erwin Schorse and Louise E Kuecker. He was born on January 23, 1929 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He had a brother, John Schorse. He graduated from Rufus King High School in Milwaukee and received honors as an All City football player and was also a state champion in track. He met his wife, Rosemary E. Rausch through a blind date set up by a friend, and the two were married on June 27, 1957, in Milwaukee. Together they had children John, Mark, Christopher, and Mary Schorse. Richard "Dick" served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force and flew B-29s in Okinawa and Korea from 1950-1954. He attended U.S. Air Force Pilot Training School at Vance Air Force Base, Enid, Okla., and University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he earned a bachelor of arts degree in accounting. He worked as a certified public accountant and was the secretary-treasurer for Sterling Custom Homes for 20 years. He was highly involved with the community including being a member of the Elks Club, president of Toastmasters and the Noon Optimist Club, Fond du Lac Yacht Club, and Trier-Puddy American Legion Post 75. He was also a member of Holy Family Parish-St. Mary Church. In his free time, Dick enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, playing cards, watching his favorite sports teams, listening to Lawrence Welk music, and traveling with his wife Rosemary. He will be remembered for his kindness, acceptance of others, playing bridge at the Elks on Friday, a generous spirit, and love of dessert.
