Valerie Melita (Fawke) Nichols born Jun 22, 1941 QLD, Australia

Valerie Melita known as Melita was born 22 June c1941, the only child of Evan Warwick and Rosina Sophia Fawke (née Phillips but also Rosina Southard from her first marriage and Rosina Stearman from her third marriage). Melita had an older half brother Denis Southard from her mother’s first marriage but never knew his twin, Gerard, who died very young. Melita worked in clubs in London and married Arthur Alexander Terrence (Terry) on 3rd February 1962. They had seven children (some dates approximate) Leigh Sandra 28th May 1962 and Terry -Ann 29th June 1963 were born at home at their grandmother, Rosina’s house at 11 Torrens Road, Brixton Hill, London, England. Ashley Warwick 9th October 1966 was born at Herne Bay, England and Grant Brockland 22nd September 1967 was born at Gravesend, England. Melita and family migrated to Australia on the Fair Star in 1968 settling in Baxter, Victoria. Melita had three more children Myles Garrick 29th May 1970, Austine Barclay 5th September 1973 and Alethea Blythe 18th December 1975 at Frankston Hospital, Frankston, Victoria. Melita worked in the home and Terry worked at first for his half brother Fred Wright at his factory in Frankston and later at various car sales roles. Melita and Terry moved frequently, living in various locations, and their children went to various schools, in the Frankston and Mornington Peninsula areas. Melita, Terry and family returned to England around 1977-78 but then returned to Australia. Melita loved the beach and spent much time there with her children. Melita had an interest in ceramics and briefly had a ceramics studio in Dromana, Victoria. Melita and Terry lived in Victoria until the 1980’s then moved with their youngest two children to Queensland, Australia where they later divorced. Melita lived with Richard for many years before her death.
