He had a brother Thomas George Bintliff. He married Hyo Chin (Ki) Bintliff on August 20, 1963 at U.S. Embassy in Seoul Korea in Seoul, South Korea County, Seoul South Korea, and they were married until Russell's death on September 18, 1993 in Maine, Aroostook County, Maine. Russell Bintliff had children Matt Thomas Bintliff, Roger Thomas Bintliff, and Mark Lee Bintliff.

    Russell completed high school in Mitchell, South Dakota. He enjoyed books and, for a time, ran a book store in Little Rock, Arkansas. He wrote several books which are available on Amazon.com yet today - Police Procedural, Training Manual for Law Enforcement Officers, How to Write Effective Law Enforcement Reports, and The Complete Manual of Corporate and Industrial Security. Russell did not attend college. The Vietnamese War was going on and he opted to join the Military.

    Russell was interested in police work. He applied for Military Police when he enlisted and became a Military Policeman. He was also interested in writing. Several of his P0lice procedural books can be found on Amazon. For a time he operated a bookstore in Little Rock, Arkansas, The reason for the location was that many of his ancestors were born in Arkansas.

When Russell was a young teen-ager, he enjoyed taking a small tent, military rations, and spending a day and night in our grandfather's pasture, near the creek, alone. He seemed to be practicing for a military life.
