  • Introduction

    Lloyd Russell Sankowich was born to Samuel Sankowich (1905 - 1972) and Sally "Sarah" Blumenfeld (1906 - 1975). His father was born in Poland and his mother was born in San Francisco, California, three months after the Great Quake of 1906. He was survived by a brother, Lee, and two sisters, Lila and Hedy. Lloyd Sankowich married Antoinet M Savoini in 1953 and they had a daughter and two sons. Antoinet and Lloyd divorced in San Francisco in February of 1973. He was later stabbed by a former boyfriend of his current girlfriend. The killer, Lloyd Simi, who was 39 years old when the stabbing occurred, was committed to Napa State Mental Hospital due to an "insanity" plea. The maximum sentence he could receive was seven years. He had been active in the Israel Bonds program. He married Antoinet and they divorced after 20 years of marriage and three children. His obituary says that he was survived by five children: Dori, Stephen, Stuart, Charles, and Nancy.

    LLOYD R. SANKOWICH Funeral for Lloyd R. Sankowich, 37, the victim of a stabbing in Burlingame Thursday night, will be held at 2:30 p.m. tomorrow at Sinai Memorial Chapel, Divisadero Street and Geary Boulevard. Sankowich owned Alta Roofing Company in The City, one of the Bay Area's largest roofing concerns. He was a former president of the Bay Area Roofing Contractors Association and a board member of Mt. Zion Hospital A director of the Jewish Welfare Federation, Sankowich also served on the boards of several other organizations, including the Concordia-Argonaut Club, the Jewish Home for the Age and the American Jewish Committee. He had been active in the Israel Bonds program. Sankowich is survived by five children, Dori, Stephen, Stuart, Charles and Nancy; a brother, Lee, and two sisters, Lila Rich and Hedy block. My father had a uniquiqe ability with n towards me , Stuat . He was able to say the kindest words to lessons I need to have in order to accepy
T ones self as well he could discipline me in a setting and I immeadiatly got the teachings . It was nice to have a man like him to be gentle while I was bothered or upsey with myself . He could tell me when he or others were bothered to cut my behaviour out or it would reflect terribly hard on those you love . He gave me harsh lessons n easy lessons I only had to be taught once and 9nce only by him , my Dad.
