Aaron Eugene Safriet was born to Athur Eugene Safriet (1887 - 1961) and Effie Mae McDaniel (1889 - 1977). Both of his parents were born in North Carolina. He had eight siblings: five sisters and three brothers. Aaron was a Private in the United States Army Infantry during World War II. He was killed in action and originally interred in Chapelle, Eupen, Belgium and then returned to Salisbury, North Carolina for final burial.
