GGGrand Parents Wealthy Pringle + Abraham Crites
This is a tin type showing the Grand Daughter of Samuel Pringle, the famous settler of the Buckhannon Area in 1760's. Samuel and Brother John lived in an old Sycamore tree for a year in this wild wilderness. The tree's fourth generation is today located near Buckhannon, WV. This is called the Pringle Tree. Wealthy was the daughter of William Pringle, son of Samuel. Wealthy or sometimes spelled Wealtha married Abraham (Abram) Crites, seated beside her.
