Abraham Kundin was born on December 15, 1886 to Esther (Lubman) Kundin and Boruch "Barnet" Kundin, and had siblings Irving Kundin, Israel Kundin, Solomon Kundin, and Charles M Kundin. He was in a relationship with Sadie (Rosen) Kundin, and had children Samuel Kundin, Reuben Kundin, Morris Kundin, and Harry H Kundin. Abraham Kundin died at age 69 years old on February 16, 1956.

In 1886, in the year that Abraham Kundin was born, on June 13th, the "Great Vancouver Fire" destroyed most of Vancouver, British Columbia. A small brush fire got out of control and spread to the rest of the city. Dozens of people died and it was only after the fire that money was raised for a fire hall. The local Squamish tribe rescued people who had jumped into bodies of water to escape the conflagration.

In 1910, Abraham was 24 years old when the Mexican revolution began. Dictator Porfirio Díaz had ruled for 35 years and was nationally unpopular. When elections were held in 1910 and a rigged election kept Diaz in office. The uprising began - and lasted for another 10 years.
