Ada Ellen was my great Grand Mother her daughter Margaret was my father Kevin John Dent's mother.
Ada and Charles collected my father from an orphanage or children's home when he was around 4 or 5 years old. He had strong memories of riding the train with them to their home in Sharpe Street Northcote. He was in his 30's when he finally found out the truth about his sister Margaret being his mother. Birth Certificate confirmed the details.
No one in this family ever had the decency to give my father any information in regards to his real father and his mother would not discuss the issue with him.
Margaret married a man named Victor and had other children whom my brother has met ( they contacted him) but has never continued contact, we are not aware if they ever knew about our Dad being their older brother.
Every Family have secrets and I for one want nothing to do with my fathers side of our family but I would like to know my father's history, who the father was, what home was he placed into after birth, why they went back to pick him up etc
