Ada Louise Gedling ( Fitzpatrick 1882 - 1965

Ada Louise (Fitzpatrick) Gedling was born in 1882 to Patrick Fitzpatrick and Alice Maud (Dunlevy) Fitzpatrick, and had siblings Matilda Agnes Bridget Fitzpatrick, James Michael Fitzpatrick, Ernest Fitzpatrick, and William Fitzpatrick. She was in a relationship with Francis Henry Gedling, and had a child Frances Ernestine Seymour ( Gedling. Ada Gedling died at age 82 years old in May 1965.

In 1882, in the year that Ada Louise Gedling ( Fitzpatrick was born, on September 4th, the switch to the first commercial electrical power plant in the U.S. - at 255-257 Pearl Street - was flipped by Thomas Edison. It lit one square mile of lower Manhattan and was powered by coal. The "electrical age" had begun.
