Adela (Zambrzycka) Holub Bojniewicz Uzlowski was born in Poland on May 19th, 1890 to unknown parents. She immigrated to the United States in 1913 and lived in Racine, Wisconsin most of her life. Adela was married three times: Her first husband, who she married on January 17th, 1914, in Racine Wisconsin, was Joseph Holub. Joseph passed in 1950. They had five children, Adolph, Francis "Frank", Joseph "Joe", Harriette, and Irene Holub. After Joseph died, she married Charles Bieniewicz in 1951. He died in 1963. They didn't have children. Adela Holub Bieniewicz then married John Uzlowski, who died in 1978. Adela had two sons who survived her: Frank and Joseph Holub and one daughter, Harriet, who also survived her. Her son Adolph, predeceased her. She was also survived by twelve grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Although Adela's obituary - see Adela Uzlowski: Obituary - says that she was 94 years old when she died, she was in fact 96 years old, having lived a long and productive life. She is buried in Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery and Mausoleum in Caledonia, Racine County, Wisconsin, where she lived for most of her life after leaving Poland.

Adela was Caucasian, of Russian/Polish heritage. She was born in Poland and in the 1920 United States Federal Census, she said that her mother and father were of Russian/Polish heritage.

Adela was born and raised in Poland. When she was 48 years old and living in Racine, Wisconsin, she said that she had completed the fourth grade.

Adela was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, where her Mass of Christian Burial was held. The Mass was presided over by Monsignor Stanley Witkowiak.

Although Adela's parents in Poland are unknown, it is known that she married three times after moving to the state of Wisconsin. First, she married Joseph Holub (1882 - 1950) in 1914. They had five children: Adolph, Francis, Joseph, Harriette, and Irene. After Joseph died, she married Charles Joseph Bojniewicz (1895 - 1963). They didn't have children. And after Charles died, Adela married John Uzlowski (about 1895 - 1978). They also didn't have children.

UZLOWSKI, MRS. ADELA (NEE: HOLUB) Byrd Avenue, Racine Mrs. Uzlowski passed away on Monday, May 19, 1986, at her home, at the age of 94 years. She was born in Poland on May 19th, 1892, and lived in Racine most of her life. By 1914, she was married to Joseph Holub, who passed away in 1950. She then married John Uzlowski, who passed away in 1978. She was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, the Polish National Alliance, and Polish Roman Catholic Union of America. She is survived by two sons, Rank and Joseph Holub, both of Racine; one daughter and son-in-law, Harriet and Joseph Vanelia, also of Racine; a daughter-in-law, Irene Holub of Milwaukee; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews living in Poland. She was preceded in death by a son, Adolph, and by two daughters-in-law, Lucille Holub and Mary Holub. Relatives and friends are asked to meet at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, corner of 18th and Center Streets on Thursday, May 22, at 9: a.m. for the Mass of Christian Burial with Monsignor Stanley Witkowiak officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Highway 32. Friends may call at the Wilson Funeral Home, 1139 Blaine Avenue on Wednesday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. The Parish Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. - The Journal Times (Racine, Wisconsin) Tuesday, May 20, 1986 on page 13.ADVERTISEMENT BYLooking for more information?
