Adolph Frank Norko was born on July 1, 1913 in Dickson City, PA to parents Dominick Norkus (1876-1927) and Anna Margaret Kavulic (1887-1943). He had siblings Anna Mary Norko (1914-1989), Elizabeth Norko (1916-1994), John Dominick Norko (1918-1972), Joseph Elmer Norko (1920-1965), Catherine Norko Cannatella (1923-1983), and Margaret "Peggy" Norko (1924-1979). On April 19, 1948 he married Nora Pearl Steinhauer (1918–1995) in New York City and the couple resided in Brooklyn, NY. Together they had two children together. He worked as a Restaurant Manager in New York City.

He was white. His father Dominick Norkus was born on June 18, 1876 in romaskony, Lithuania and immigrated to the US arriving in New York, New Yorjk on April 15, 1903. He then resided in Luzerne, Pennsylvania, USA and became a naturalized citizen on November 25, 1914. He passed away on March 9, 1927 at his home in Dickson City, PA. His mother Anna Margaret Kavulic was born on July 27, 1887 in Margecany, Slovakia and immigrated to the states sometime around 1891. She resided in Dickson City, Lackawanna, Pennsylvania, USA and worked at a silk mill. She passed away on April 20, 1943 in Blakely, PA.
