    Adrian Devisser was born on April 25, 1917, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, to Bastiaan Devisser (1892-1936) and Nellie Van Gemert (1897-1983). He had four siblings, Henry, John, Joe, and Abraham Devisser. At the age of 23, on October 16, 1940, Adrian registered for the World War II Draft while living in Kalamazoo, Michigan. The following year, on June 2, 1941, he enlisted in the military in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Four years later, at the age of 27, Adrian married Betty Kwekel on November 9, 1944, in Grand Rapids, Kent, Michigan, USA. The couple lived in Kalamazoo and had three children together: Richard B, Mary Beth, and Adrian P Devisser. Adrian was a business owner and operated a trucking company in Kalamazoo.
