3 Memories, Stories & Photos about Aimo

He was my Uncle.
My Uncle was a great man, he had many degrees, engineering, Physics. He made me read books to help with my school history class. He built a telescope, ground down 10" round piece glass into a mirror. He lived with me & my grandmother.
He used to listen to his Zenith tube radio, classical station for music. He took me to a Mets double header at the Polo grounds. They beat the Braves. We would go to Canal Street in Manhattan to get parts for projects. We also went to a few movies.

A memory on his Birthday. Today is my Uncle Aimo's Birthday. (R.I.P) He was a Great man. Among his many talents were, he studied Engineering, (graduated) & Physics & enjoy classical music. He taught me to view the world in a different way. He built 2 reflector telescopes, a 10" & 6" main mirrors. He ground down a 10"x 2" piece of glass with a glass door knob to get the proper curve. Then sent it to get a reflective mirror coating. We looked at the moon as if we were orbiting it. He could also cook, he made the best Hungarian Goulash from articles in the NY Times cooking section. We also built model airplanes together with my Father. a P-38 & a B-29 Superfortress. Ha also use to help me with my Physics homework.
Thank you Aimo.
