Alpheus "Albert" Jack Roesselet was born to parents Albert Roesselet and Lydia "Lillie" Katherine Grether. He was white. His mother Lillie was born on February 14, 1891 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and grew up there. She lived there for most of her life and then moved to San Diego, California, USA in the 1930's with her husband and kids. She also resided in Pasadena, California and then resided in Las Vegas, Clark, Nevada, USA after her husband's passing. She passed away on September 13, 1973 in Las Vegas, NV. His father Albert was born on September 30, 1883 in Wingreis, Twann, Bern, Switzerland and immigrated to the US in 1895 where he lived in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA. In 1930's he moved to San Diego, California, USA with his wife and kids and worked in a kitchen. He passed away on June 1, 1939 in Pasadena, Los Angeles, California, USA.

Alpheus had siblings Marian Roesselet (1916-2005), Wilbert Roesselet (1920-), and Irene Anita Roesselet (1923-1984). He completed four years of high school.

Albert Jack Roesselet enlisted on August 5, 1940 in Ft Macarthur San Pedro California as a private with Military serial#: 96928666. He served in the US Army from August 6, 1940 until his discharge on July 1, 1944.

After they separated/divorced, he re-married on December 8, 1943 to Viola Marie Fuller (1916–1995) in Clark County, Nevada. The couple had two children together; Samuel Thomas Roesselet (1934-1960) and Edward Ray Roesselet (1936-2007).
