Albert Luettich 1879 - 1970

Albert Carl Luettich of Western Springs, Cook County, Illinois was born on March 7, 1879 in Milwaukee, Milwaukee County, Wisconsin United States to Matilda (Menges) Luettich and Frederick Antone Luettich. He had siblings Gustave Adolph Luettich, Armien Luettich, Frederick Anton Luettich, Tusnelda Rounsevelle, and Brunnhilde Bathrick. He married Mabel Henderson, and had children John Kleckner Luettich, Sr., Lorena Luettich Anderson, and Esther Luettich Stover. Albert Luettich died at age 91 years old on May 17, 1970 at Americana Nursing Center in Naperville, DuPage County, IL, and was buried on May 19, 1970 at Forest Home Cemetery 863 Des Plaines Ave, in Forest Park, Cook County.

    May 18, 1970. Albert C. Luettich, 91, of 4615 Grand Ave., Western Springs, a Spanish-American war veteran, died yesterday in a Naperville nursing home. He was the last commander of the Society of the Army of Santiago de Cuba, which was disbanded six years ago. Th society was formed among veterans of the 1st Illinois Infantry which landed in Cuba on July 7, 1898, and fought until the Spanish surrendered July 14,1898. Services for Mr. Luettich, a retired supervisor for the Chicago Surface Lines, a predecessor of the Chicago transit authority, will be held at 1:30 P.m. tomorrow in a funeral home at 518 Hillgrove Ave., Western Springs. Survivors include his widow, Mabel; a son, John; two daughters, Mrs. Lorena Anderson and Mrs. Esther Stover; nine Grandchildren 19 great-grandchildren.
