Albert M Dumont's parents were Raymond and Florence Dumont. His father was a career US Army Officer having started in the Massachusetts National Guard, then US Army, and finally serving in the Army Reserves. He received a Purple Heart from his service in Vietnam. His father passed away in December 1983. His mother Florence, mother of six (Albert being the Eldest) and having lost a seventh during pregnancy, passed away in September 2002. Albert's siblings are in order of birth: Therese R. Dumont, Raymond O Dumont (passed away September 2021), Jean P Dumont, Ronald Dumont, and Elizabeth Dumont. Albert's dream was to be a successful Rock and Roll musician and song writer. He developed what was called the "Newport Sound" during the 1980s/90s. He passed away on April 1, 2002 from bladder cancer that had spread throughout his body.

Albert moved many times while growing up since his father was a career US Army Officer. Places he lived include: Fall River and Somerset, MA, the Panama Canal Zone, Anniston, AL, Carson, CA, and Newport, RI.
