  • Introduction

    Albert Nichaels Lello was born on May 4, 1922, in Dupont, Pennsylvania, to parents James Crispino Lello (1884-1961) and Rosina (Rose) Villani (1885-1947). He had siblings Ann, Clara Loretta, David, Lucille, Anthony, and Vincentina Lello. He grew up in the nearby town of Old Forge, where he worked at the Packard Colliery before being drafted into the military during World War II. Albert enlisted into the military on July 6, 1943, in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania, and was assigned to the Selectees (Enlisted Men) component. He served in the Air Force until April 3, 1946, when he was honorably discharged. After his service, he married Jeanne M Nosal (born 1925) on June 24, 1946 in Luzerne, Pennsylvania, USA and together they had two children. Sadly, Albert passed away on March 16, 1975, at the age of 52. Although he lived a relatively short life, his service to his country and his family left a lasting impact on those who knew him.
