Albert Schmesser is the son of Israel Schmesser (1891-1979) and Anna "Annie" Stern (1901-1962). He was born in Philadelphia on January 24, 1919 and had brothers Albert (1919-1997) and Samuel Schmesser (1924-2009). He joined the military on May 11, 1942 and served in the Army until November 17, 1945. On June 10, 1949 he married Grace H Berg (1921-2002) in New York City. The couple moved to Blackwood, Camdem, New Jersey, USA. He was father to sons Tobin and Marin Schmesser.
