Alexander Alfred Hucklebridge of Port Fairy, Moyne Shire County, VIC Australia was born circa 1883 to Mary Jane (Chamberlain) Hucklebridge and George Hucklebridge. He had siblings Matthew Hucklebridge, Sarah Ann Hucklebridge, and George Hucklebridge. He married Florence May Fabain in 1912, and had children Eileen Hucklebridge and William Alfred Hucklebridge. Alexander Hucklebridge died at age 55 years old circa 1938 in Port Fairy.

In 1883, in the year that Alexander Alfred Hucklebridge was born, on July 4th, the first rodeo in the world was held in Pecos, Texas - according to its citizens. In the towns of Prescott and Payson Arizona, the same claim is made. All of these were gatherings of local cowboys, showing off their skills - no matter who was first.

In 1903, Alexander was 20 years old when the Harley-Davidson Motor Company was begun by two childhood friends, William Harley and Arthur Davidson - with help from Arthur's brother, Walter. Their first prototype - a "motor-bicycle" - couldn't climb hills without also pedaling, so they went back to the drawing board, and in 1904 their new version came in 4th in a race. Harley-Davidson and Indian Motorcycle Manufacturing Company were the only two major motorcycle companies to survive the Great Depression.
