He married Elizabeth Jane Johnson in 1901, and had children Gladys Elizabeth Gibson, Amy Harriet Gibson, Alexander William Gibson, Francis David Gibson, and William Alexander Gibson. Alexander Gibson died at age 74 years old on August 4, 1942 in Guildford.
