Alfred Eugene Burnett who died in Monrovia/Los Angeles, CA was descended from a long Line of Alfred Eugene Burnetts, starting with Alf Burnett, an early vaudevillian from Cincinnati in the 1850's and 1860's. He was the son of Cornelius Burnett, an abolitionist who sheltered slaves in the 1840's and 1850's, before the Civil War, at his home in Cincinnati. He came to Utica, NY from Bungay, England, then went to Cincinnati. His other son, James Augustus Burnett, went to Wanganui, New Zealand and started a successful confectionery business, then became wealthy in sheep. The line is: Cornelius - his son Alfred Eugene ("Alf"), his son Alfred Eugene Burnett, a Professor in Cincinnati, his son Alfred "Eugene" Burnett, who died in NY, and his son Alfred Eugene, who died in California.
