He had a brother Henry Fong Tong. He married Olive Owens (Miles) Tung in 1916, and had a child Alfred Henry James Fong Tong. Alfred Tong died at age 74 years old on September 2, 1957 in Warracknabeal, Yarriambiack Shire County.
