    Mr. Alfred Rowden Stratton. Whose death was recently reported In "The Advertiser." died at 144 Fisher-street, Malvern, after 34 years' residence there. He was the son of Mr. Charles Stratton, of Salisbury Plains, England, and a pioneer of South Australia. Mr. Stratton was a prominent member of the building trade. He built several of the first residences erected in Malvern after its conversion from a wheat farm into suburban allotments. He was born In 1857 on the Victorian goldfields during the memorable rush. He married in 1881 Miss Emma Jane Trott, the youngest daughter of Mr. Charles Trott, of Blackwood, the ceremony being performed by the Rev. H. Hocter at St. John's, Coromandel Valley. He left a widow, two daughters, and four sons —Mrs. E. Cooper (Gumeracha).Miss G. Stratton (Malvern), andMessrs. JF. E. Stratton (Rosefleld). A.A, Stratton (Alberton), C. H. Stratton (Fullarton), and S. H. Stratton (Malvern). He also left two sisters Mr. Alfred Rowden Stratton.
