    Alfred E Snygg Jr was born on October 7th, 1912 in Omaha, Nebraska, to Alfred Emanuel Snygg (1864 - 1932) and Sofia G. Russell (1876 - 1977). His father was born in Sweden and his mother was born in Iowa. He had siblings Grace, Russell, Dorothy, and Norris. A veteran of World War II, Alfred served as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army in 100 base Unit AAF. Alfred Snygg Jr. married Dorothy Jeanne Phillips (1921 - 1991) on July 19th, 1944 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They had three daughters: Janeen L. Snygg, born in 1952, Linda, and Laura. Alfred died on September 18th, 1971 in the VA Hospital in Vancouver, Washington, of lung cancer at the age of 58. He is buried in Camas Cemetery Camas, Clark County, Washington.     ALFRED E. SNYGG Alfred E. "Al" Snygg, and engineer with the General Telephone Company, died in a local hospital Saturday at the age of 58. A Camas resident for 25 years, he was born on October 7, 1912, in Omaha, Nebraska. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. The Reverend Burton Schroeder will preside at the 2 p.m. services Tuesday at Brown's Stoller Memorial Chapel in Camas. Burial will be in the Camas Cemetery. Snygg is survived by his widow, Dorothy J., at home; his mother, Mrs. Sophia Snygg of Omaha; three daughters, Mrs. Larry Horst of Camas and Janeen Snygg and Laura Snygg, both at home; a brother, Russell Snygg of Scotts Bluff, Nebraska, and two sisters, Dorothy C. Snygg and Mrs. Grace Beeson, both of Omaha. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers. - The Columbian (Vancouver, Washington) Monday, September 20, 1971 on page 2.
