Alice Elizabeth (Membery) of Alla Australia was born in 1887 in Allansford, VIC to Samuel John Membery and Alice (Holland) Membery. She had siblings Violet Ethel (Membery) Membery, Mary Myrtle (Membery) McDowall, Augustus "Gus" Membery, Thomas Oliver "Tom" Membrey, Samuel Alfred Membery, and William John Membery. Alice died at age 75 years old on July 15, 1963 at The Royal Melbourne Hospital - Royal Park Campus 34-54 Poplar Rd, in Parkville, City of Melbourne County.

They were supposed to have been 15 inches wide and 8 inches thick. A rancher in the area said that they were “larger than milk pans”. A Wild West tall tale?
