Alice Grace (Beckwith) Wastell of Box Hill, Whitehorse City County, VIC Australia was born in 1908 in Adelaide, SA to Sydney Lennox Beckwith and Jennie Grace Simpson Beckwith. She had siblings Florence Margaret Beckwith, John Henry Lennox Beckwith, George Arthur Beckwith, Ronald Kitchener Beckwith, Robert Falconer Beckwith, and Eric Munro Beckwith. She married John Charles Wastell in 1928, and had a child John Charles Wastell. Alice Wastell died at age 69 years old in 1977 in Box Hill, VIC.

It was a tear-jerker and audiences went wild - especially when they heard the songs. Thus begun the demise of silent films and the rise of "talkies".
