A photo of Alma Turek. Alma boarded SS Eastland ship with her father for a picnic in Chicago, Illinois on July 24, 1915. The ship slowly rolled to its side near the docks-844 people lost their lives due to drowning or being crushed to death. Alma was only 10 years old when she and her father sadly perished in the disaster.
