Alois Maichin married Margarete Jackl (1920 - 2006) on April 30, 1946 and they had three daughters including Margaret (1950 - 2011).

In 1921, by the time he was only 10 years old, the silent film The Sheik, directed by George Melford and starring Rudolph Valentino and Agnes Ayres (also featuring Adolphe Menjou) debuted on October 21st.
