He had one sister, Mary - Millie Difusco (1911-1998) and one half-sister, Emilia Descuso (born 1912). He immigrated to the US as a young child, growing up in Rhode Island. He later served in the military, joining the National Guard, a reserve component of the United States Army, which was mobilized for active duty during World War II. After completing his service, he returned to West Warwick, Kent County, Rhode Island, where he worked as a barber. Alphonse DiFusco passed away on August 8, 1992 at the age of 83.
