  • Introduction

    Born to Alfanso and Amy Tensiley-Gibson, he was the middle child of three children, an older brother and a younger sister. After his parents divorced, his mother remarried and gave birth to another girl. Al and Joy wanted a girl and decided to adopt a daughter once their youngest son was a junior in college. Al was in DC attending a special training, when his youngest son, Brian was born. He didn't believe the baby was a boy until he was reunited with his family and met Brian. Needless to say, he was so proud of his sons, Anthony and Brian.

    Born in Union, SC and grew up in Chicago, IL. Al joined the army where he served in three wars: Korean, Dominican Republic and Vietnam. He was awarded the Silver Star, the 2nd highest award for bravery in the USA. After his duty at Ft Bragg, NC, where he served in the 82nd Airborn, he was transferred to Okinawa. AL met his wife of 22 years, Joyce Burden-Gibson, aka Joy. Joy was a dependent in Okinawa. They married a year later at Ft Bragg. They have two sons, Anthony and Brian. They also lived in Germany for eight years, and traveled extensively. Al retired while serving at Ft Ord, CA in Military Intelligence, as a Command Sgt Major. After his retirement, he and his family moved to the Bay area. After completing his MBA, he was recruited by Lockheed Martin in Sunnyvale.
