Alvin Russell Vallance
Alvin Russell "Pig" Vallance was born 3 Feburary 1911 at Lodge (later renamed to Plaska) Hall Co.,Texas. He died 13 Febuary 1974 at Rison, Cleveland Co., Arkansas. Alvin was raised on the Vallance Farm in Plaska. He married Jewel Vivian Medford in 1933 at Plaska, Texas. They were the parents of William D. "Billy" Vallance and Henry Lee "Harry" Vallance both born on or near the Vallance Farm. He later married Mary Albina Parsons of Arkansas and they were the parents of four children. Alvin and Jewel moved to California after the birth of their two children and lived there for several years. He returned to Plaska and farmed the Vallance Farm for many years. After his marriage to Mary he farmed several more years before going to work in the grocery business. He and Mary moved to Arkansas with their four children and he continued to work in the grocery business until his death. Alvin was the son of the late Henry Greene Vallance and Anna Jennettie Pearl Yount Vallance of Plaska, Texas. He is buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Rison, Cleveland Co., Arkansas beside Mary.
