    Amaro P. Ovies married Ynes Sophia Fernandez (1898 - 1957) in about 1917 in West Virginia. They had five children: Delfina (1918 - 1991), Amor (1919 - 1980), Ynes (1921 - 2007), Angel (1923 - 1926), and Saturno "Spots" Prendes (1925 - 1993). On his 1918 World War I draft card, Amaro was described as having brown eyes and brown hair and he was living in Meadowbrook, West Virginia. On his 1942 World War II draft card, when he was 44 years old, Amaro was described as being 5 feet 11 inches tall and as weighing 200 pounds. He had brown eyes, brown hair, and a "light" complexion.

    AMARO PRENDES Amaro Prendes of 1641 East Kingley Street, Pomona, died Friday in Pomona Valley Community Hospital following a long period of failing health. Mr. Prendes was born March 27, 1897, in Candas, Spain, and had been a Pomona resident for 21 years. He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Delfina P. Perpers of Pomona, Mrs. Amor Flenniken of Washington, Pennsylvania, and Mrs. Ines Busto of Los Angeles; a son, Sturno Prendes of Weirton, West Virginia, six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Shipment will be made to Washington, Pennsylvania where services and burial will be made. Todd Memorial Chapel Pomona is in charge of local arrangements. - Progress Bulletin (Pomona, California) Sunday, December 27, 1970 on page 4.
