Americo B Antonelli was born to Angeline "Angelo" Antonelli (1896 - 1965) and Lucia DiFante (1892 - 1971). Both parents were born in Italy. He had four siblings: Basilio, Marie, Anna, and Jenny Antonelli. Americo Antonelli married Joan Demaio in July of 1950 in New Jersey. They had nine children: four daughters and five sons.

Americo was Caucasian of Italian heritage on his maternal and paternal lines. Both of his parents had been born in Italy.

Born and raised in New Jersey, Americo was a lifelong resident of New Jersey, where he died at the age of 67. He is buried in Our Lady of Victories Cemetery in Landisville, Atlantic County, New Jersey.

He graduated from Vineland High School in 1949. He was class president throughout high school. Americo then graduated from Rutgers University in 1959 and then Rutgers Law School in 1960. He was president of the Student Bar Association in 1960.

He was a member of Our Lady of Victories Roman Catholic Church in Vineland, New Jersey.

Americo was a lawyer and a former Franklin Township mayor.

Americo married Joan Demaio in July of 1950 in New Jersey. They had nine children: four daughters and five sons. He was survived by his wife, children, and 10 grandchildren.
