Introduction

Ann Florence Turville, age 19 years married the widower Joseph Henry Stead at Melbourne's then Anglican Cathedral of St. James, on 15 July 1879. She had six children with Joe Stead in addition to several stepchildren from Stead's first marriage. The 1912 electrol roll lists children Annie, Madge Angela, Norman,Thomas Leicester and Walter as living at 107 Pilgrim St, Footscray.(Arthur and his wife Grace were living at 5 Bute St and later at 18 Newell St, Footscray.) Ann was interred 4 February 1926 with her husband in the family plot at Melbourne General Cemetery. Ann Florence Turville had also an older brother Frederick Mackness Turville and a young stepsister Leah Turville Sheldrick.
