Annabelle was born to Charles Taylor and Mattie (Garrett) Taylor in Monroe, Michigan. Annabelle married Patsy Peter Patterfritz (both of Monroe, Michigan) in Bowling Green, Ohio. They met each other while waiting in line to go into the movie theater. She shared the story of his friends betting him that he could not get her to say yes to go out with him. His friends lost the bet. Patsy was her first true love. They had seven children: Caroline, Patricia, Dorothy, Mary, Peter, Annabella Marie, and Sonta. Patsy was killed in 1955 in a train/truck accident on his way to work, and Annabelle raised her seven children keeping his memory alive. Years later she married Robert Lee, they were divorced in 1971. She married Roger Edwards and they were married for a short time. Annabelle married Gorland Patterfritz who she was married to at the time of her death in 1990.
Annabelle was called "Belle" by her family and friends. She was a devoted, loving, mother to her seven children, and would always talk about their "Daddy" Patsy. She loved all her grandchildren (Robby, Darrin, Steven, Daniel, Patrick, Julie, Michael, Jeremy, Todd, Dale, Mindy, Mary, Joey, Peter, Melissa, and Amber). She was a religious devout Catholic and would sit with her children on the couch and share the family Bible with them, showing them the pictures and teaching them about God, Jesus and their faith. She always put her family first. She remained close to all Patsy's family throughout her life. Her door was always open, she welcomed all. You never had to call to set up a time, you just walked in. She fed the hungry, comforted the mourning, gave a home to family who were down and out, she was the perfect example of the Beatitudes. She was loved and cherished by all who were honored to know her.
