  • Introduction

    I do not know much, but what I do know and remember is this. We were born a day apart; I'm older. She on the 28th of July, me on the 27th. Her name, Annie, my name Andy. I met Annie in 1970 on the first day of Kindergarten. I remember this because as my Mother was dropping me off for my first day of school ever, I cried and cried. Annie spoke to me, telling me it was 'okay' and not to cry. Odd to remember something so far back because it was so traumatic for me, I suppose that is why I remember it so well. I can remember wherein the group of 5-year-olds Annie sat, and I remember looking over my right shoulder when she spoke to me. I remember her Mom dressed her that day in a plaid skirt white shirt. I recall over the following years from Kindergarten through High School at one point during these 18 years remembering that first-day Kindergarten and deciding to walk over to Annie's house to talk about her role in my being able to feel comfortable that day. We laughed about it and made fun of me for it as we should have. I lost touch with Annie, but today recalled for some reason that day in Kindergarten. So I was trying to look her up again to say hello. I found she had passed. I wish I could have comforted her as she did me that day. Hi Annie. Andy.
